Finalist of the Miss England 2022 competition became a truck driver
Finalist of the Miss England 2022 competition, 23-year-old Millie Everatt, left her modeling career to fulfill her cherished dream: she became a truck driver and now travels by truck around the UK, reports the Daily Mail.
Millie began taking part in beauty pageants in 2017. A year later, she received the title of "Miss Lincolnshire", as well as "Miss Charity", having raised more funds for good causes than other contestants.
In 2022, the model became a finalist in the Miss England 2022 competition. At the same time, she thought about changing her profession. Millie completed her HGV license training to fulfill her dream of becoming a HGV driver. Now the former model travels around the country in 44-ton high-tech vehicles.
"It's so much fun to drive a big truck. I like the freedom this job gives me, because I can travel around the country, and the salary is also great,” said Millie.
According to the girl, she started thinking about becoming a truck driver during the pandemic in 2020. Then she learned that the number of women truck drivers in the UK was less than 1% and decided to change this. In addition, Everatt grew up on a farm surrounded by heavy machinery. She drove a tractor around the property and thought getting behind the wheel of a big truck was the next logical step in her career. Now Millie is trying to attract as many girls as possible into this profession.
"For any women who are thinking about getting into logistics, my advice is to just do it. There are a lot of vacancies and training opportunities in this field, it’s really interesting work,” added Everatt.
