"I'm so glad I gave up acting. I feel like I have my own voice, creative space and freedom that I didn't have before - I'm more autonomous. Emma said that by focusing on herself, she gained a new perspective on Hollywood, where she was constantly surrounded by beautiful and successful people. According to her, none of this matters if you are unhappy with yourself when there are no cameras pointed at you.
She added that by giving up her career, she was able to make time for many important things: for example, she is studying creative writing at Oxford. “Because my career is moving so quickly, the decision to make time for these things seemed very important to me.”
At the moment, the actress has not acted in films for four years: the last full-length film in which Emma Watson starred was Little Women. directed by Greta Gerwig.
