Kristen Stewart, Hugh Grant with his wife, Tilda Swinton at the Chanel show in Manchester
On Thursday evening, a show of the new collection of the fashion house Chanel Pre-Fall 2024 "Métiers d'Art" took place in Manchester. The show was attended by Kristen Stewart, Hugh Grant and his wife Anna Elizabeth Eberstein, Tilda Swinton, Alexa Chung, Kristen McMenamy, Jean Gallagher, Caroline de Maigret, Lucy Boynton, Greta Bellamacina, Laura Bailey and other guests.
Chanel creative director Virginie Viard presented the transseasonal collection in Manchester, an industrial English city 190 kilometers from London, where iconic rock bands were founded, from Joy Division and New Order to The Smiths and Oasis. For the sake of the fashion show, one of the city streets was blocked and covered with a glass roof, protecting guests from rainy weather. Manchester's musical present and past, as well as the style of the local youth known as Mancunians, served as the main inspiration for the designer.
Models walked the runway in tweed sets and jersey sweaters, with signature Chanel motifs made in bright greens and pinks, mustard, black and neutral grays, and wore leather and accessories in the form of caps and sunglasses.
