"It was a difficult decision." Paris Hilton explained why her two children were born to a surrogate mother
Paris Hilton explained why two of her children were born to a surrogate mother. Last week she announced the birth of a daughter named London, and earlier this year she and her husband Carter Reum welcomed a son, Phoenix. Both of her children were born to a surrogate mother, and for this decision, Paris Hilton faced criticism online: she was accused of simply “buying her children.”
According to Paris, this decision was not easy for her because she “would like to be pregnant,” but she and her husband made this decision because she is constantly in the spotlight. “Surrogacy is definitely a difficult decision. But my life has just been so public,” admitted 42-year-old Paris.
She said on her reality show that "she would have loved that experience of carrying a baby in her tummy and feeling the kicks and all those exciting moments," but she was worried about the health of her children and decided it would be better if they were carried by a surrogate.
Paris's husband Carter Reum also said he was worried about the safety of the children due to Hilton's publicity. "Now that Paris and I have a family, we want it to be normal, and our children not always be Paris Hilton's children. We must think about safety."
"When we go to the farmers market, it's one thing for someone to stop and ask Paris for a photo. It’s a completely different matter when a child travels with us in a stroller.”
"I don't think we know everything that awaits us on this journey, but we'll just figure it out as we go," he added.
