Britney Spears ' father says his daughter suffers from dementia
In the case of the fight for custody of 39-year-old Britney Spears and her 68-year-old father Jamie, new circumstances have emerged. The father of the star said that his daughter suffers from dementia. He announced Britney's diagnosis in documents that are supposed to prove that his daughter needs custody.
The details of the star's diagnosis will be revealed in the documentary The Battle for Britney: Fans, Cash And A Conservatorship, which will be released on the BBC on May 5. Its author, journalist Mobin Azhar, said that the documents appeared on some websites.
In the field where you need to specify the reason, it says: "This is related to the treatment of dementia",
- he said.
Azhar himself notes that Jamie Spears ' statements about his daughter's dementia sound somewhat strange. First, no one has ever talked about the diagnosis of the star before. And second, only 5% of people under the age of 65 in the United States suffer from this disorder.
Jamie Spears was appointed guardian of his daughter in 2008. But due to health problems, he handed over some of his responsibilities to his assistant Jodie Montgomery a year and a half ago and became responsible for his daughter's financial affairs. But he has recently had to share this position with the Bessemer Trust Co.
Britney is expected to appear in court in June, and she will address the court in person. The star is seeking to remove his father from custody completely. At the same time, she does not object to being under the care of Montgomery.
