Aubrey Plaza makes first public appearance since husband's death, holds tribute to him

Aubrey Plaza made her first public appearance since the death of her husband Jeff Baena. The White Lotus star took part in a special edition of Saturday Night Live in honor of the show's 50th season.
The 40-year-old actress appeared on TV screens for just a few seconds: she announced Miley Cyrus's entrance on stage. Aubrey paid tribute to her husband by wearing a tie-dye T-shirt, a reference to Jeff's hobby.
Recall that Aubrey Plaza's husband, director Jeff Baena, died at the age of 47 earlier this year. The man committed suicide, his body was discovered by an assistant. Aubrey and Jeff were together for more than 15 years and got married in 2021. At the wedding, they both wore pajamas that Jeff had drawn on.
Plaza told Drew Barrymore in a 2021 interview that her husband loved tie-dyeing clothes and actively practiced it during the pandemic.
"We literally decided on it around 5 p.m. and got married at 8:30," Plaza said. "During quarantine, Jeff got into dyeing clothes, and I decided we'd wear the pajamas he made for us."
Conspiracy theories have formed around the death of Baena, who hanged himself in the couple's Los Feliz home, allegedly due to Aubrey's fascination with "dark forces." Users have noted that the director often raised the topics of suicide and mental disorders in his works. Some of them starred his wife, who appeared before viewers as a zombie or a nun.
