Forced to film after miscarriage: Kate Beckinsale supported Blake Lively in her conflict with Justin Baldoni and spoke about terrible incidents on set
51-year-old Kate Beckinsale supported 37-year-old Blake Lively, who recently accused her co-star in the film “It Ends With Us,” 40-year-old Justin Baldoni, of harassment.
Kate posted a video on her social media in which she talked about the terrible things that happened to her on the set of films or during other work that was somehow related to her profession.
For example, Kate once had a miscarriage and was bleeding. Because of this, she tried to refuse to take part in a photo shoot, but she was forced to work. Beckinsale tried to explain that she did not want to change clothes in front of strangers in such a state, but she was told that if she did not do this, she would be sued.
Another time, Kate was called a “bitch” because she complained about a co-star who she had to wait six hours for because he was drunk. Twice, Beckinsale was on such a strict diet that her periods disappeared. There was also an incident when an actor was too rough with her during filming, tore her clothes and wig, and left her with bruises. Everyone was alarmed because of this, and filming was even stopped for several hours. However, when the actress called the head of the studio to tell him about what had happened, he blamed her and punished her.
According to Kate, every time she spoke up about problematic situations, she was gaslighted and blamed. “That’s the whole point. Everyone says, ‘Why didn’t you tell us about this?’ But we did: our agents, our managers, the head of the studio.”
“I’m grateful to Blake Lively for highlighting this issue, which is still very much alive,” Beckinsale said, adding that she has a million stories, each worse than the last, to share. Kate noted that women in all walks of life face these kinds of relationships, but that when you’re a public figure, it’s made even more difficult by the potential for public harassment — especially in the age of social media.
After Kate's revelations, many suspected that the actor who behaved inappropriately with her on the set, or who was late because he was drunk, could have been Ben Affleck - the stars starred together in the film "Pearl Harbor", but Beckinsale denied these speculations and emphasized that Ben, on the contrary, protected her, and that she is very grateful to him.
Recall that last month Blake Lively accused Justin Baldoni of harassment. She said that the actor came into her work trailer when she was naked, allowed himself to go too far during the filming of intimate scenes, showed a photo of his naked wife. In turn, Baldoni filed a lawsuit against The New York Times, which published a detailed article about this.
