Grimes Says She 'Ran Away' From Elon Musk and Still Took Her Child
Singer Grimes (real name Claire Boucher) has spoken out about her relationship with billionaire Elon Musk amid rumors that the entrepreneur is not allowing her to see their children.
Grimes got into a spat on X (formerly Twitter) with rapper Azealia Banks, with whom she has had a long-standing feud. First, Grimes reposted a meme in which the heads of both girls were photoshopped onto the bodies of Glinda and Elphaba from the film Wicked.
"You're trying to make me out to be the villain after you were dumped, cheated on, had your kids kidnapped, and are being lied to by Elon's secretary," Banks responded. She also claimed Musk "harvested eggs" from Grimes, 36, "and photographed [her] C-section," which she called "peak white woman failure."
In 2023, Grimes said that after her first birth, Musk sent pictures of her C-section to friends and family. The singer then noted that she was upset by the billionaire's actions.
In response to the rapper's words, Grimes said that she initiated the breakup, and that her son is by her side. "I wasn't 'dumped.' I ran away. My amazing baby is sleeping next to me in my bed, I'm in love. No regrets. Life is as good as you want it to be," she wrote.
In September 2023, singer Grimes posted on social media X that Musk was not allowing her to see her children, but later deleted it. Musk has recently been regularly seen in public with the singer's four-year-old son X Æ A-XII.
Grimes and Musk began dating in 2018, but they broke up three years later. The former partners also have a three-year-old daughter, Exa Dark Sideril, and a one-year-old son, Techno Mechanicus, who were born via surrogate mothers after their breakup. In total, the businessman, recently recognized as the richest man on the planet, has at least 12 children.
