The star of the TV series "Secrets of Smallville" Allison Mack received three years in prison for recruiting sex slaves
Yesterday, the court sentenced 38-year-old Allison Mack, known for her role as Chloe Sullivan in the TV series "Secrets of Smallville". The actress was sentenced to three years in prison for her activities in the organization Nxivm. The company was hiding behind the activities of conducting personal growth trainings and initially offered its potential participants participation in seminars for the purpose of personal and professional development. In fact, Nxivm was a sect in which sex slavery flourished.
Allison Mack joined the organization back in 2010 and helped its leader Keith Ranier lure new girls into it. In this case, the star of "Smallville Secrets" used her popularity, so new participants willingly agreed to join the sect. Subsequently, they were not only subjected to sexual violence by the leader, but also experienced various kinds of bullying. The victims were starved, as well as constantly morally humiliated. Keith also forced the members of the sect to take an oath of allegiance and provide their pictures of a sexual nature, with which he could blackmail them if they wanted to leave the organization. Among the victims of Ranier were minors.
Allison Mack was arrested in this case back in 2018. Initially, she tried to deny her guilt, but a year later she confessed to aiding the leader of the sect, Keith Ranier. She pleaded guilty and said that she should be held responsible for what she had done. A few days before the final verdict, Allison Mack also expressed her remorse over the incident, calling her participation in the activities of the sect the biggest mistake in her life.
Now it is extremely important for me to say from the bottom of my heart that I am very sorry. I was completely immersed in the teachings of Keith Ranier. I sincerely believed that his mentoring would help me become the best version of myself. I gave him my loyalty, strength and, as a result, my life. It was the biggest mistake of my life,
Mack wrote in a letter on the eve of sentencing.
Allison also promised to devote the rest of her life to working on mistakes. The lawyers of the actress until recently asked the court not to sentence their client to a real term, using her sincere remorse and willing cooperation with the investigation as an argument. However, the Iec did not manage to avoid punishment.
The leader of the organization, Keith Ranier, also paid for his actions. He was also arrested in 2018, and in 2019 he was accused not only of organizing a sect, but also of pedophilia, as well as the production of child pornography. Ranier never admitted his guilt, but the court collected enough evidence to imprison him: he received 120 years in prison.
Initially, another star of the series "Secrets of Smallville", Kristin Kreuk (she played Lana Lang in the show), was also involved in this high-profile case. Kristin joined the Keith Ranier sect before Allison Mack and left it a few years later. At the same time, Kreuk denied her involvement in the recruitment of sex slaves. The court also failed to collect evidence to bring Kristin to justice.
The accusations that I allegedly participated in the recruitment of women into sex slaves are blatant lies. I have never been involved in illegal or nefarious activities. I want to thank all the women who shared their stories and helped expose the organization. I am very upset and discouraged because I was associated with the company Nxivm. I hope that as a result of the investigation, justice will prevail,
- said Kreuk in 2018.
