The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is marrying three-time Olympic gold medalist Shaun White after nearly five years of dating. "Goodbye boyfriend. Hello fiance," the actress wrote on Instagram*, showing engagement photos.
Shaun White also posted a few photos, including one that captured him on one knee proposing to his girlfriend and giving her a five-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring. 
The proposal was carefully planned. Nina Dobrev received an invitation to Anna Wintour's private Vogue/CFDA dinner in New York and went there on time. There was no dinner: instead of Anna Wintour, her lover was waiting for the actress there - under a flower arch, in a room with roses and candles.
As Dobrev told Vogue magazine, she didn't suspect anything, so she was speechless when she realized what was happening. Due to the excess of feelings, the actress doesn't remember exactly what her beloved said to her when he proposed, but nevertheless, she immediately said "yes" to him. 
The couple is currently busy preparing for the wedding. The lovers have not yet decided when it will be, but both have already said that they want to start a family as soon as possible. Nina Dobrev is 35 years old, Shaun White is 38. They met at the end of 2019 and soon began dating. The couple spent the quarantine of 2020 together. Interestingly, when they met, both knew nothing about each other.
Nina Dobrev became famous for her leading role in the TV series "The Vampire Diaries". Shaun White is one of the most titled snowboarders in the world, the only three-time Olympic champion in all snowboarding disciplines in history. Both have never been married. 10 years ago, Dobrev dated her colleague from the series "The Vampire Diaries" Ian Somerhalder (now married to Nikki Reed), after which she had several long-term romances. White's last girlfriend was rock singer Sarah Barthel, with whom he broke up shortly before the beginning of the affair with Dobrev.
