'It's nice, but no.' Kim Cattrall denies she'll return for 'Just Like That' season 3
Kim Cattrall announced on the social network X (formerly Twitter, blocked in Russia) that she will not be filming the third season of the series "And Just Like That".
Recently, the press began to write that Kim Cattrall would return to filming: Elle magazine claimed this, and the tabloid Life & Style claimed that her scenes would be filmed in London: "They will bend over backwards to pay her a fortune, and all on her terms, because she is central to the franchise."
However, Cattrall herself responded to a repost of one of these publications that she was not going to act: "Oh, that's so sweet, but no," and added a kiss emoji to the tweet. The press notes that this may simply be a warm-up for the audience before the launch of the new season, so Samantha will still appear in the sequel to the franchise.
Let us recall that Kim Cattrall refused to film in the series due to a long-standing conflict with Sarah Jessica Parker: the disagreements began in the second season of "Sex and the City". The reason was that Kim Cattrall demanded an increase in her fee for each episode, and Sarah Jessica Parker, who by that time had become the executive producer of the series, refused to do so.
In 2008, before filming the feature, Kim Cattrall said in an interview that she was going through a difficult period in her life: she got divorced, her father was diagnosed with dementia, and she had to move to Canada. So, according to her, her refusal to film was not only because of money.
Over the following years, both actresses tried to convince the public that they were actually friends and that there was no serious conflict between them: Sarah Jessica Parker insisted that she would not have starred in the film without Kim Cattrall. However, they then continued to publicly sort things out on social media: after the death of Cattrall's brother in 2018, Cynthia Nixon and Sarah Jessica Parker expressed their condolences, but Cattrall responded by writing to Parker: "You are not my relative or my friend. So I demand for the last time that you stop exploiting my tragedy to save your "good girl" face!"
It is worth noting that the series "And Just Like That" is criticized a lot online: some are not happy that it is being filmed without Kim Cattrall, some criticize the style of the characters, some are not ready to see their favorite characters grow old. But the script gets the most criticism: many believe that it devotes more time to the fashion agenda than to developing the characters' personalities and their storylines. Nevertheless, the show continues to be watched, and, as we can see, there is no talk of closing it yet. Samantha appeared in the second season only once, and it was only her voice, but this gave hope to fans of the series that the heroine would return.
