"Children won't be able to understand how fake all this nonsense is." Chrissy Teigen says she won't let her kids use social media until after school.
Model Chrissy Teigen said she won't allow her children to use social media until they finish school. She spoke about this at the Aura parent summit.
"Unless there are more rules [regarding social media safety], I would prefer that they stay off social media until they finish school. I want them to be safe, happy and enjoying their childhood," she said.
“Children will not be able to understand how fake all this nonsense is,” she added. Chrissy noted that she herself often publishes their photographs on social networks, because as a mother, in this way she finds responses from like-minded people.
Chrissy Teigen has four children: 8-year-old Luna, 6-year-old Miles, 1-year-old Esty and 11-month-old Ren. The children's father is John Legend, whom she married in 2013.
Chrissy herself found herself at the center of a cyberbullying scandal in 2021. The model was accused of harassing several people, including minors. She also made toxic comments about Lindsay Lohan and her mental health and addiction problems. Later that year, she took responsibility for these actions and apologized. “Not a day, not a moment has gone by where I haven’t felt the crushing weight of regret for the things I’ve said in the past,” Chrissy wrote.
