Nicki Minaj was fined for attempting to smuggle drugs from Amsterdam; during the arrest, the rapper broadcast live
Trinidadian rapper Onika Tanya Maraj, known under the pseudonym Nicki Minaj, was briefly detained at the Dutch Schiphol airport for attempting to export soft drugs. This was reported by the local publication NU.nl.
However, the world learned about the events even before the articles appeared in the press: during the arrest, Niki was not at a loss and began broadcasting live on social networks, in which she showed herself arguing with the police. The singer claimed that she had no drugs with her, but the police still insisted that she get into the van and go to the station.
Minaj later posted another video of herself talking to a man - apparently an airport employee - about her luggage. The man explains to the performer that her luggage needs to be checked more thoroughly at the request of the police.
In the end, Niki was fined 350 euros and released. The prosecutor's office does not have exact data on exactly how much drugs the artist was trying to smuggle, but the weight was less than 100 grams. According to Nika, she was kept in the police station for about 6 hours, and after that she waited another 20 minutes on the plane, despite the fact that the flight itself was supposed to last 50 minutes. Because of this, she was forced to cancel the Manchester show at the last minute. 
Nicki said that she would definitely look into this situation with her lawyers. She believes someone deliberately tried to sabotage her Pink Friday 2 tour, the most extensive tour of her career. Minaj called the actions of the Dutch police officers illegal.
“They tried to stop me from doing every show. They took my suitcases before I could check them. This is what it looks like when people get paid big money to try to ruin a tour after everything else has failed. Everything they did was illegal,” the star said.
