“This bill (as I personally understand) is disguised as a law on domestic violence. If you are against [violence against women], then you seem to be for [tightening penalties for violence against children]. Personally, I think that these are two different problems and laws on them must be considered and adopted separately,” the musician wrote.
He noted that women should not be beaten, and children should not be beaten either - but in relation to children, he urged “not to rush from one extreme to another.” “In the case of children, everything is very blurry. If you take it to the point of absurdity, then tomorrow your children will choose their gender. If they are not taken away from you because you not only assaulted, but, so to speak, bullied the child while raising him.” ,” added Scriptonite.
The Ombudsman for Children's Rights of Kazakhstan, Dinara Zakieva, responded to him. The law signed by the President of Kazakhstan on April 15 introduces criminal liability for beatings and intentional infliction of minor harm to health, and also tightens liability for intentional infliction of medium and grave harm to health. In addition, the new law excludes the possibility of reconciliation of the parties when it comes to cases involving physical violence and cruel treatment of minors.
