Hollywood producer Carol Baum says Sydney Sweeney is "ugly" and "can't act"
Leading Hollywood producer Carol Baum has publicly stated that she does not understand the phenomenon of the popularity of Sydney Sweeney, an actress twice nominated for an Emmy Award for her roles in the TV series Euphoria and The White Lotus.
During a public discussion following the screening of the 1988 film Bound to Death, Hollywood producer Carol Baum said that Sydney Sweeney couldn't act: "Explain to me what you see in this girl. She's ugly, she can't act. Why her Do they think you're so sexy?" According to Carol Baum, she watched the recently released film with Sydney Sweeney “Anyone But You” - she was wondering why everyone was talking about this actress, but in the end she called the film “unwatchable,” the Daily Mail reports. Sydney Sweeney's rep responded to Baum in a public statement published by Page Six: "How sad that a woman who could share her knowledge and experience would instead attack another woman. If this is what she has learned over decades of working in the industry and feels the need to teach her students is shameful. The unfair humiliation of a fellow producer speaks volumes about Ms. Baum’s character.”
Carol Baum is a successful Hollywood producer who has worked on such films as Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride 2. The first film she produced was “Bound to Death” in 1988.
Sydney Sweeney has become one of the most sought-after actresses in Hollywood since her debut in Euphoria in 2019, and she has two Emmy Award nominations.
