Alessandro Mikchele is the new creative director of Valentino
Alessandro Michele has become the new creative director of Valentino. The 51-year-old Italian designer will replace Pierpaolo Piccioli, who recently left the fashion house after 25 years of work.
Michele will take up his new role on Tuesday, April 2 and will present his first collection for Valentino for the spring/summer 2025 season at Paris Fashion Week in September. According to Vogue, Alessandro's debut will be the most anticipated show of the season.
"It is an incredible honor for me. It brings me great joy and great responsibility to join a House where the word 'beauty' is carved into a collective history of unique elegance, sophistication and extreme grace," Michele said in a statement.
Alessandro Michele is known for his collaboration with the house of Gucci, where he worked as creative director for seven years and left the brand in November 2022. Over the years of work under the leadership of Michele, the fashion house has changed a lot and acquired a number of recognizable features. Michele relied on androgyny, vintage style and unusual, theatrical shows - for example, models walked the catwalk with models of their own heads or with their real twins. The designer has his own circle of celebrity friends and fans of his work, whom he made ambassadors of the brand. Among them are Jared Leto, Harry Styles, Dakota Johnson, Billie Eilish, the group Måneskin and others.
