Blogger Valeria Chekalina (Lerchek) filed for divorce from her husband Artyom. This was reported by Super with reference to court documents.

Rumors about problems in their marriage appeared a long time ago: Valeria herself said that the showdown with the tax authorities affected their relationship, and she and her husband were visiting a psychologist to solve them. These rumors were strengthened after Artyom, shortly after the criminal case of tax evasion against the couple was closed, flew to the Maldives with the children, but without Valeria

Artyom himself also spoke about divorce in early March. “If we suddenly get divorced, naturally, we won’t live together. Whoever messes up and wants to leave, will leave,” he said in the show “Is this normal?” on TNT.

The Chekalins themselves have not yet commented on the divorce news.

The couple was accused of tax evasion and money laundering. In mid-January, Valeria and Artyom paid off a debt to the tax office of half a billion rubles. Chekalin was accused of tax evasion in the amount of 311 million rubles in March 2023, and later she and her husband Artyom Chekalin were also charged with money laundering on a particularly large scale: according to the investigation, they illegally withdrew 130 million rubles. They were banned from certain actions: in particular, they could not use the Internet. After the case was closed, the right to use the Internet was returned to them, and now, according to Chekalina, they celebrate this day as a new holiday.

After the criminal case was closed, Valeria herself became a weather forecaster.
