Gomez confirmed her relationship with Blanco in early December. The news caused a mixed reaction among her fans: some were happy for the singer, but many expressed dissatisfaction due to the fact that Benny, in their opinion, is too strange, ugly and unworthy of the heart of their idol. Selena even had to protect her beloved from haters. 
However, there are also those who believe that Gomez herself is not in the best shape now - the artist is often criticized for her excess weight and her changed face. Gomez tries not to pay attention to this, although she admits that sometimes criticism does affect her self-esteem. As for Benny, he also has more haters because he periodically makes jokes online about those who have long been credited with having a conflict with Selena. So, he recently joked about Hailey Bieber (the wife of Selena’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber), and many found it inappropriate.
