The triumph of "Oppenheimer", the kiss of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet, the antics of Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston with Rachel's haircut: the main moments of the Golden Globe Awards
The Golden Globe Awards ceremony took place in the United States, which is often called an “Oscar rehearsal.” — the winners at both awards are often the same. This year the ceremony was remembered for the victory of "Oppenheimer" over "Barbie", the next funny antics of Jennifer Lawrence, the new appearance of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. Spltnk collected the main moments of the award.
"Oppenheimer" passed "Barbie"
At the Golden Globes it became clear who the public's favorite in the main confrontation of last year was: "Barbie" against "Oppenheimer". The films came out around the same time and turned out to be the main competitors for each other, becoming the objects of numerous memes. However, "Oppenheimer" at the Golden Globes appreciated more: the film received statuettes for best director, best actor, best music and best supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.), and also became the best film of the year. While the film about the creator of the nuclear bomb "Oppenheimer" took the main nominations, "Barbie" I had to be content with an award for the soundtrack and a victory in the nomination for best box office (this is a new nomination that has already faced criticism).
However, this victory can also be called impressive - the main competitor of "Barbie" In this category was the film "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour", which at the end of the year was very discussed and broke box office records. In her speech from the stage, Margot Robbie said that she wanted to dedicate this victory to "every person on the planet who got dressed and went to the greatest place on Earth - the movie theaters."
Lily Gladstone wins
There were also historical moments. Actress Lily Gladstone became the first Native American to win the Best Actress award for her role in Martin Scorsese's Killers of the Flower Moon. She began her speech on stage in the Blackfoot language and later called her victory "historic."
The antics of Jennifer Lawrence
Actress Jennifer Lawrence, who has an extraordinary sense of humor, is known for often getting into unusual situations that go viral. In this sense, she has been the star of red carpets before, getting tangled up in luxurious dresses and falling on stairs (this happened to her at one of the Oscar press), and also became an object for memes: for example, when she decided to make fun of the singer Taylor Swift , sneaking up behind her while she was talking to reporters. This year, Jennifer also distinguished herself: a video went viral online in which the actress promises to leave the ceremony if she does not win a statuette for the film “No Offences.” By the way, she did not keep her promise, despite the fact that the prize went to Emma Stone, and she was emotionally happy for her colleague.
Kiss from Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet
The couple, in which half of their fans do not believe, appeared together in public again: Kylie came to support her boyfriend, who was nominated for an award for his recent film "Wonka" (according to some network users, he needed an affair with Kylie just to promote the film). Timothy didn’t receive the award, but he and Kylie got into all the Western tabloids. Interestingly, after the new video, opinions on the network were again divided: some considered the kiss unconvincing and even childish, claiming that they were playing for the audience, while others noted that now it was definitely time to believe in their couple.
Jennifer Aniston's nostalgic hairstyle
The 54-year-old star of the series "Friends" Jennifer Aniston, appearing at the ceremony, probably evoked pleasant memories among fans of the show: the actress repeated the legendary “Rachel haircut,” which was at one time the most fashionable beauty trend.
Kieran Culkin's speech
Kieran Culkin (brother of “Home Alone” star Macaulay Culkin), who received the award for best actor in a television series for his role in the show “Descendants,” addressed one of his main competitors, Pedro Pascal, with a harsh joke from the stage. The actor, nominated for his role in the Last of Us, who came to the ceremony with a broken arm, appreciated the joke and laughed.
Jennifer Lopez's reaction to "meme" Ben Affleck's facial expression
Jennifer Lopez spoke with journalists who couldn’t help but ask her the main question that worries her fans: is everything going well in her marriage to Ben Affleck. The fact is that the actor often looks angry and dissatisfied next to his wife and even loses his temper. However, the actress assured reporters that her husband was happy. "He is doing well, ok happy. He's nominated for an award." Lopez came to support her husband, who was nominated for an award for his work on the film “Air: The Big Leap,” which ultimately did not receive an award.
"Awkward ceremony"
The ceremony itself has already been dubbed “awkward” by Western tabloids. and "at times frivolous" event. One of the problems is the host of the ceremony, comedian Joe Coy, who, as the press writes, is a funny guy in himself, but is ill suited for this “thankless job.” After several unsuccessful jokes that did not make the guests laugh, he justified himself and stated that he did not write all of his monologues himself: the organizers of the event prepared some for him.
And many also sympathized with the actresses who, because of the darkness, had to squeeze through the crowd in luxurious dresses to receive their award.
Some awkwardness may have been felt by Leonardo DiCaprio and his former lover Camila Morrone, who broke up in 2022 (as soon as the model turned 25, which sparked new rumors that the actor does not date girls older than that age), and are now clashing one ceremony. True, according to journalists, the former lovers did not interact with each other. On the red carpet, DiCaprio posed with his Killers of the Flower Moon co-star Lily Gladstone.
