Due to a "translation error" The Dutch version of Omid Scobie's book revealed the names of members of the royal family who speculated about the skin color of Meghan Markle's son
Omid Scobie's book "Final" about the royal family in Dutch has been withdrawn from sale: according to media reports, it names members of the royal family who, according to Meghan Markle, made comments about the color of her son’s skin.
Omid Scobie has previously stated that although he knows who they are talking about, he did not name them in his book due to fear of persecution. According to him, in the Dutch version they are named due to a “translation error.”
"I only wrote and edited the English version of Endgame." and I can only comment on the manuscript, which did not mention the names of the two people who took part in the conversation. I am glad to hear that the error in the translation of the Dutch edition is being corrected."
However, not everyone believed him: some journalists wondered how the two names could be translated incorrectly.
The story gained resonance in 2021 when Meghan Markle and Prince Harry gave an interview to Oprah Winfrey. In the conversation, the Duchess of Sussex said that someone from the royal family during her pregnancy discussed what color her child's skin would be. It is clarified that these people were discussed in correspondence with King Charles, who was “shocked” by this, but they did not publicly name the members of the royal family.
