In the USA, the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Oscar film award has ended. Will Smith and Jessica Chastain took their first statuettes in their careers, and Billie Eilish won the award for best soundtrack. The best film was the picture "CODA: The Child of Deaf parents", but the film "The Power of the Dog", with 12 nominations, received only one award — it was taken by the director of the film Jane Campion. There were scandals at the ceremony. Comedian Chris Rock allowed himself a joke from the stage about the short haircut of Will Smith's wife Jada, which he compared to Jane's soldier. However, the actor's wife has her own reasons to get a short haircut — Jada has repeatedly admitted that she suffers from alopecia.
The actor did not tolerate this and went up on stage, where he hit the comedian in the face and demanded not to say his wife's name. At this point, the broadcast was interrupted for a while. Later in his speech, he apologized to the Film Academy and other nominees for this situation.
The media, however, doubted that the conflict was real and suspected the organizers of trying to raise the ratings of the show.
When Will Smith took to the stage for the second time to pick up his first Oscar for his role in the film "King Richard", he could not hold back tears and made an emotional speech.
